Christenings

We at St John’s would like you to know that we will do all we can in supporting your decision to have your child christened.

 

Christening is the start of the Christian journey, of itself it doesn’t make you a Christian but it opens the door to the life God wants us to lead.

As Christians we believe that Christenings are one of two principal sacraments, the other being Holy Communion. So what is a sacrament? It is a visible sign of God’s love for us as human beings. At baptism we are thanking God for the gift of life and acknowledging his love. We are turning away from evil, sin and darkness and turning positively to Christ.
